Labs
What Labs is
Dlogtech Labs is a collection of the calculators mechanics, racers and riders reach for most, made by the Dlogtech team, who build data-logging hardware and ride-analysis software for motorcycles. It takes the formulas you would otherwise work through with a calculator or a printed table and turns them into pages that answer as you type, with an explanation of what each number means and what range it usually sits in.
The tools so far
- Displacement & Compression Ratio works out displacement from bore and stroke, compression ratio from the chamber volume, and the chamber volume a target ratio needs, with a to-scale animation of the piston, rod and crank.
- Sprocket Gearing compares current and new sprockets: speed in every gear at the redline, engine speed at a cruising speed, and a zoomable chart of every gear.
Who it is for
- Mechanics and tuning shops working out a bore, a head skim or a sprocket change before doing it
- Racers and teams choosing gearing for each circuit
- Riders who want to understand what a modification does to the engine and the ride
- Students of automotive technology and engineering who want to see the formulas work on real numbers
How to use it
- Open a tool and enter your bike's figures; results update every time you type.
- Press ⓘ next to any field or result for an explanation, how to measure it, and typical ranges.
- Press "Copy link" to keep what you entered, or send it so someone else sees the same numbers.
How accurate it is
Every tool uses standard engineering formulas and shows them under "How it is calculated" on its page. Results are theoretical, and the ⓘ guidance is general. Before changing a real engine, follow the manufacturer's manual and ask an experienced mechanic.
Free, and private
Labs has no accounts. Every calculation runs in your browser and nothing you enter is sent anywhere; ads pay for the site. Details are on the Privacy page. Read more about the team on About, or report a problem and suggest a tool on Contact.
